This update adds a new area to explore as well as a few new artifacts to discover. It also fixes a number of bugs present in the first release of The Zone.

Version 2 Update [10.5 MB]

It is strongly recommended that you download this if you have the full version of The Zone. The update is not necessary if you have a demo version of The Zone.

Please note that games saved in previous versions of The Zone cannot be restored in Version 2. Saved games will be deleted when installing the update to avoid problems when trying to load incompatible saved games.

• Fixed problem with compass disappearing after running away from the upper floor of the suburb building and then coming back
• Fixed some typos
• If sound is disabled in The Zone Configuration, it no longer plays in video sequences either
• Reduced music skipping when changing screens
• Fixed music not resuming after certain video sequences
• Fixed walk-to point getting randomly moved in map if you alt+tabbed back into The Zone from another application
• Fixed problem with some radio messages being very rare
• Fixed problem with mouse bounds not being properly aligned with close-ups of postcards and photographs
