Graphical problems
- Download the latest patch
- Update to the latest version of DirectX: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/
- Update your video drivers, contact your video card
manufacturer.
- Try running the Zone in windowed mode instead of in
full-screen. Run the Configuration and select "Run
in a window instead of full-screen"
- Change video resolution to 640x480 16-bit colour before
running the Zone. Right-click the desktop and select “Preferences”
to access these settings.
- As a last resort, run the Configuration and reduce
resolution to 320x200.
Sound problems
- Turn off other applications that play sound or music
before running the Zone.
- Download the latest patch
- Change sound output device by running the Configuration
and select another digital sound device.

- Update your sound drivers, contact your sound card
manufacturer
- As a last resort, disable sound by running the Configuration,
unselecting “Use digital music pack if available”
and “Use speech pack if available”, then select
“No digital sound” as digital sound output
device.
How do I know which version of the Zone I have and if
I need to update it?
The version number is shown in the lower left corner of
the title red screen and in the "About" box of
the menu. If this version number says anything else than
"Version 2" (which is the latest version), you
need to update the program. Please download
the latest patch. Demo users does not need to update
their copies.
Video playback is noisy or runs at variable speed
This is intentional.
