The air-raid shelter and the
area just outside were the only 3D renderings made for the
project.
Force majeure I was a live role-play where participants
physically enacted the first part of the story that was
continued in Force majeure II: The Zone. In the first installment
of the series, people were trapped in utterly dark air-raid
shelter for two hours, speculating and arguing about what
had happened outside. The Zone is what happened outside.
Two Zone wanderer costumes were made for the project.
The office was inspired by PanoptiCorp, a live role-play
by Eirik Fatland.
The icon for the manual in the office is a downscaled photo
of Thomas Moore’s legendary book Utopia which was
published in 1516.
The Psychogeographer character was inspired by several
people from Interacting Arts.
The idea of having a map drawn by hand was stolen from
the Silent Hill series of games.
The soundtrack is over 70 minutes long.
The talk about ”our special place” is an intertextual
reference to Silent Hill 2.
The white room was inspired by a dream I once had about
such a place.
Psychogeography
was developed by the Lettrist International. There is an
article
on about the situationists at Interacting Arts, if you
are interested in the movement.
The Oneironaut has a very close resemblance to Leo Nordwall
for some reason.
The cat being chased by the Psychogeographer is currently
asleep in my studio.
For as long as I can remember, I have had recurring lucid
dreams of a city in ruins much like the one in the Zone.
The ticket is a reference to the book Days
of war, Nights of love by CrimethInc.
The question ”Why am I here?” and it's response
in the white room is a reference to a similar situation
in a famous movie.
While testing the scene with the Psychogeographer, the
real cat actually appeared and jumped into my lap when the
whistling sound was made by the program.
